WAFA is proud to congratulate our first-team head coach, Sadiq Abubakar, on successfully completing his CAF A Licence.

For the first time in ten years, the CAF A Licence coaching course was held in Ghana. At WAFA, we were happy to support Sadiq in taking this important next step in his coaching development, and he was one of the coaches selected to take part in the programme.

Sadiq has now successfully completed the course and can put the knowledge and experience he gained into practice every day with our young players.

Developing coaches as well as players

At WAFA, player development is at the heart of everything we do. That also means investing in the people who work with our players every day.

Our coaches play an important role in helping young players develop, both on and off the pitch. Continuing their education allows them to improve their own skills, learn new ideas and bring new knowledge into their daily work at the academy.

Sadiq has been part of the WAFA coaching staff for several years and has continued to develop as a coach. He previously completed a coaching internship at Feyenoord in the Netherlands, building on the strong relationship between the two academies.

His CAF A Licence is another important step in that development.

Putting knowledge into practice

For Sadiq, completing the course is not the end of the process. The real value comes from putting what he has learned into practice.

At WAFA, he works every day with a very young first-team squad. Many of the players are still teenagers and are developing their football, understanding of the game and ability to deal with the demands of senior football.

Having a coach with the knowledge and experience gained through the CAF A Licence is therefore valuable not only for Sadiq, but also for the players he works with every day.

We are very proud of Sadiq's achievement and look forward to seeing him continue to develop as a coach while helping the next generation of WAFA players take their own steps forward.

At WAFA, we do not only develop players. We also believe in developing our coaches.
